The Factory

Our obsession with immediacy blinds us to its cost. Our inability to delay gratification is fueled by the endless and uncontrolled availability of the digital world, and the use of resources exceeds the capacity that nature can contain. Lack of empathy leads to exploitation and numbness.

Out of a desire to raise awareness of the direct link between consumption and exploitation, we built a continuous performance for an entire day, in which visitors were given the opportunity to influence the work in progress. By taking control of workers’ actions we encouraged them to take responsibility for their own choices.
