"'Shemesh' (Sun) is an interactive video-sound installation, an invitation to embrace the sunrise as a restorative meditative act, a moment of surrender, contemplation, and healing.

'Shemesh' responds to the viewer's gaze and facial expressions, offering solace through a conscious and unconscious sensory experience. The viewer sits facing a dynamic image of the sun projected onto a giant wall; when they close their eyes, the sun grows and brightens, and the sound evolves into static noise simulating a solar flare. Upon opening their eyes, the sun shrinks and becomes smaller, and the sound changes accordingly.

The viewer can also 'play' and influence the rhythm and intensity of the sound by opening and closing their mouth."

The exhibition is the 10th stop on the journey of "ZUMU" in Kibbutz Bror Hayil . Presenting more than 60 sensory-blending artworks by guest and local artists, which deal with "gathering" and the special role of the kibbutz dining hall as a place where one receives nourishment for the body and food for the soul.

ZUMU is a community based mobile museum, which moves throughout Israel showcasing changing exhibits that are created and curated together with the local communities.

ZUMU, whose name in Hebrew combines "move" and "museum," champions art's role in building bridges for a more open and accepting Israeli society. It actively works to overcome geographical distances, cultural divides, physical limitations, and conceptual obstacles, connecting artists with audiences, art with communities, and creativity with reality.
